1940 Browing to CA C&R

I'm a FFL holder in PA and selling some items, a question just came to me regarding selling 1940 Browing Hi-power 9mm to CA C&R holder? Anyone know the answer or should I just call ATF?
Don't want to cross the funny lines...:-)

    I believe ALL handguns must be shipped to FFL dealers if sold in CA.

    Yes I ship ALL handguns nationwide to FFL's without question but the question is the 1940 Browning hi-power with regards to the magazine capacity?? holding 13 I believe causes some issue in CA.

    C&R handguns cannot be shipped directly to C&R holders in CA, C&R handguns must be shipped to a CA FFL dealer who will then release the pistol to the CA buyer. If you are non licensed you do not have to concern yourself with getting a CA DOJ transaction number before shipping the pistol, but be sure that the dealer will accept a firearm from a non licensee (this applies to shipments made to any state). C&R handguns are exempt from the CA DOJ handgun safety roster but the 10 shot magazine limit still applies so unless the dealer can provide you with a valid high capacity magazine permit you cannot ship the magazine with the pistol.

    Mark nailed it. C&R long gun can go directly to a CA C&R 03 FFL, but handgun must go to 01 FFL in CA.

    thanks that answered my questions, I am licensed and have the form to transfer for CA but never thought i'd use it??? I'll see if it is worth the paper transfer. That is what I thought about the Mag as well.

    I'm going to go on the assumption the current deal is already set and I sure don't want to cost anyone $$$, but if the CFLC paperwork is a bit of a chore I don't think it would be unreasonable in the future to add a few $$$ to cover your time, if the only other alternative is closing to the CA market.
