    FYI an invention called a "magnet" can be used to determine if a shotshell contains steel shot.

    Those are from the 1970s to the early 80s. I recognise the box. I used those for ducks in the pre-steel era.

    I bought a box of those in the fall of 1972.Left them in my grandparents cupboard with gramps ammo. I was staying and working there at the time. I had forgotten all about them and found them still in the cupboard after he died. Still have about five #6 left.I was young then...what happened?

    Definitely 1970 and into 1980's. Bought many boxes for Duck and Pheasant. In fact, I went and checked an old 20mm ammo box and found a couple of boxes from years ago.

    Yes!!, they are lead shot most definitely. We never heard of steel shot back in those good old days.
