Marlin 375
Hey folks, I'm new here but have been getting great response to my springfield M6 question. Anyway, my father has a Marlin lever action in .375 and he's thinking of getting rid of it. I'd love to have it, it's in beautiful shape and has been fired very little (loudest damn gun I ever heard as a kid!). What's it worth and should I spend my kind of hard earned money on something new? If I can scare up the cash I'd love to have it.

Without pics it could be worth anywhere from $300 up to $800. If you want a real bruiser to hunt with then sure why not but I dunno how much I would want to plink with it. Ammo is also not cheap-approx $40 a box of 20 so unless you reload it won't be easy on your wallet--to me the fact that it is your dads would be the biggest factor in buying it-to keep it in the family if that is what you want. yeah a special son deal would be great, I can't get a pic for it as it's in New Jersey..aka "the Gestapo" state where pretty much everything is illegal. I'm hoping to coerce my dad into letting me buy it. It is a real bruiser and ammo is not cheap at all but I think it'd be worth it to have. Hopefully I'll have some luck and it'll come my way.

you can load the 375 for .86 cents a round, .35 cents bullets, 35.00 a hundred(hornady 220gr. FP),powder .16 cents(175 rounds at 40 grains of powder),27.00 a pound for powder. 3.5 cents for a primer at 35.00 a thousan. and if you can go to gun shows there are bargins on reloading supplies that may bring the cost down even more. eastbank. 0 -
