Weaver Grand Slam

Just picked up a Howa custom built heavy stainless barrelled .223 with a Weaver Grand Slam 3.5-10x50 scope, would like to know opinions of the scope, and if it sounds like a good match for this gun. Opinions and thoughts on the gun are also welcome. I bought the gun hoping it will be an accurate target shooter at reasonable distances (200-400 yard).

    Anybody have any experience with the new Grand slam from Weaver?

    Optically the Grand Slam is a decent scope and seems durable (mine is on a .308). The one downside I have found is the huge power adjustment ring which is so large it can block the bolt handle on some rifles. It does not block my Howa but does several other rifles.

    Sounds like a nice set-up. I have a Grand Slam on my 257 Bob and it is a good scope for the money.

    Depending on your endeavors, you should be able to produce many dead little critters out to about the 250 yd range or 1" groups at 100 yds. It's a fine set up.
