Help---- Looking for a part

I am looking for a stock for a J.C. Higgins 101.16. The one that I have is cracked. I also understand that a Stevens 87A is the same rifle. If anybody knows where I can find a replacement stock for this older rifle I would greatly appreciate the information. If anybody has one that they want to sell please email me. Thank you

    Here's a link to Numrich: http://www.e-gunparts.com/product.asp?chrProductSKU=578040A They have the stock for $47.85. It is also the same stock as the Savage Model 6A. I may also have this stock. I'll look later today and let you know if I do.

    Where's the crack and how bad is it?
    You might want to consider repairing it. A little bedding compound, maybe a brass threaded rod or two.
    Just a thought.

    I don't mean to hijack this post, but I have a J.C.Higgins 583.21 in 16ga. that has a badly cracked stock.
    Can anyone tell me if there is another model of gun (Savage) that would fit?

    I show that as being one of the shotguns recalled by Sears for a dangerous bolt. I also show it as Hi Standard Model 10.

    AND SEARS MODEL NUMBERS: 583.13, 583.14, 583.15, 583.16, 583.17, 583.18, 583.19, 583.20, 583.21 AND 583.22

    The model of shotgun may be subject to a BOLT FAILURE. When this occurs the bolt will dislodge from the action, striking the shooter causing serious injury. These shotguns were manufactured for and sold by Sears, Roebuck & Co. during the 1950's.

    Just for clarification on the bolt recall. Sears no longer offers the $160 cash incentive on these bolts. I think they are offering a $50 gift card now.
