Ruger 10/22

Recently sold a new 10/22 wood stock for over 900.00. It did have a box that had 50th anniversary emblem on it. Why was this gun so hot? Was it the box or what. It looked like every other 10 22 I see.

Looking for someone that can tell me how old the gun I was just given is. It's a ruger 10/22 Carbine with a serial number that starts 113-21XXX.

If anyone can give me an answer or if they can send me in the right direction to find out i would appreciate it.

Typically they are quite good after you put another $400 into parts replacements and up grades.

Here is what I did with one. I don'r know if I did the photo copy correctly. Well I almost did it but you have to click on the link. What did I do wrong so that it just didn't show up on my post?

The 10-22 is the most sold .22 rifle in history. They are reliable and accurate for a mass produced gun.

There are also more after-market doodads and accessories made for the 10-22 than other .22s as evidenced by Nwcid's collection.

There are heavy target barrels, trigger groups, scope mounts & scopes, stocks, hi-cap mags and even flash hiders like on Nwcid's bottom 2 guns. (Why a .22 needs a flash hider I'll never know) but it looks cool.

If you get one I think you will be happy with it.

You can easily spend several times your original investment in aftermarkets but I've never felt the need. I lightened the trigger pull and installed an overtravel screw then put good glass on it.
Mine loves WW Power Points and will keep 5 rounds in 5/8" at 50 yards from a solid bench. (When I stay away from the caffeine!)
Also easy to modify for breech end cleaning if you're so inclined.

10/22s rocks[8D], I love mine. if you want a good semi auto .22 that you can customize however you want then a 10/22 is what you need.. if just what a nice semi auto .22 but have no intrest in doing anything to it then could look into some other .22s.

Strictly out of the box Id take a Mariln 60.
But i dont want anything out of the box.

I have two, straight modles out of the box. For now.

I will have more. Grew up with ones that were Dad's and now my brothers have those.

I love Ruger 10/22's.

The Ruger 10/22 can be adapted to your personal taste. They shoot well and mine is not picky about what ammo I feed it.
