Sights for a Remington Speedmaster 241

My old 241 has a cheap rear sight. The sights are held in place with two screws, which have been tapped into the receiver. I'd like a good quality sight that these 62 year old eyes can comfortably use. Suggestions much appreciated.[:)]

  Sure it has cheap sights; it was a cheap rifle!
  
  When you start to age, your lenses lose their flexibility, so all "iron" sights become difficult to use. Most folks find that a good scope, or an an optical sight like Aimpoint or EOTech, works a lot better.
  
  Rather than spend a lot money mutilating your collectible Remington to mount other optics, you might want to consider buying a new .22 that comes with a mounting rail, or is, at least, d&t'd for it.
