Ok to ship ammo to Hayward CA?

With all the gun laws, I just have to check to make sure. Is It ok to ship ammo to Hayward CA?

    Should be OK. The only cities in that area where shipping is restricted are the liberal enclaves of San Francisco & Oakland.

    I would think it would be okay although if it is some kind of exotic stuff you might check further. Black talon, steel jacket, uranium core, 50 caliber or such.

    I recently sent 3 boxes of .375 H&H to Sacremento and never gave it a thought until after I had shipped it off.

    Actually, SF is an interesting situation. Midway and some of the other on line stores won't do SF because SF requires the seller to collect buyer info. Midway takes that to mean they can't ship to, others like Weideners and Grafs do not take it to mean that and will ship ammo to SF.

    I've read the ordinance, had others at work (attorneys) read it and their opinion is the ordinance applies only to sellers actually located in and doing business in SF. As in a gun store selling ammo face to face, in SF.

    I understand Midway taking their approach - their company, their rules - but they also wouldn't ship to South SF because according to them it's in SF. Which of course it's not, it's not even in the same county.

    Doug, Yeh, since there is such a mish mash of laws in Ca some sellers get confused. I think about 98% of the state is clear to sell ammo to, but many sellers dont have the published ordinances book.

    Some sellers say they wont ship ammo to Orange county where Iam. Hell, we have gun shows here about 4 times a year and they sell it by the truck load literally, and there are no laws saying ammo cannot be shipped here.

    However, be aware that in the near future, if the CA legislature passes and the Governor signs AB962, all ammunition capable of being used in handguns will be required to be sold in person by licensed CA vendors, and not by mail or internet orders. The reality will be more fees and higher ammo prices, more red tape, and more restrictions for law-abiding citizens, but no real effect on criminals. Unfortunately, it looks like the Governator is our only hope on this not passing. Right now, at least, the budget stalemate has pushed back the Senate committee's review of this legislation, but it has already passed in the Assembly.
