.219 zipper/.22 hi-power?

A customer brought in a rebarreled m-99 savage and whated to knon the caliber (not marked). I did a chamber cast and came up with either .219 or .22hp, I then slugged the bore (not easy on a 99) and came up with .224" so I'm 80% sure it's a .219 z. cart of the world doesn't help as they don't show sholder angles or lenght to the shoulder. Any sure way to tell?

  The .22 Savage High Power uses a .228" bullet.

  This link shows case dimensions... while googling I found a reference saying that 22hp has a diameter of 228 vs 224 for the zipper, and the zipper has a 20 degree shoulder angle.

  thanks i, the bore dia. is the 'tell tail' here. any chance of the same info. on the .22 h.p.?

  Did a little more googling, no obvious links for 22hp case dimensions ... sorry. Did find reference to parent cases for making brass, but nothing on actual dimensions.

  Since they are both obsolete cartridges and you have a .224 replacement barrel on it anyway, how about rechambering to the .225 Winchester and get 22-250 ballistics out of it?
  I don't know how much if any, spool mag work would need doing.
  On second thought the 22-250 itself might work.

  THANKS V, BUT IT ISN'T MY GUN. MY CUSTOMER BOUGHT IT WITHOUT KNOWING WTH IT WAS. I'LL GUESS IT WAS PUT TOGETHER IN THE 1950'S WITH AN OLD WEAVER SCOPE AND FORE & AFT DOVE TAIL SCOPE MOUNTS ON A TAKEDOWN ACTION[:0].
