What Do You Think?
A dealer I know bought a few guns from an old hardware store here in Ohio. The Family that had them closed the store back in the sixties and these are mint NOS Guns Without going into a lot of details. He is asking about twice book for them. At first I thought he was nuts, But most of these were guns that were sold to be shot and abused and I have never seen such examples of these guns since the sixties. There are some old Remingtons that I realy like. Is there ever an instance when twice book is justified. These aren't rare guns but I'd have to say they are in extremely rare condition and with boxes and papers too.

The owner is about 200% optimistic in my opinion. Cut the prices in half and he will be in the ballpark. 0 -
Based upon my experience at gun shows, gun shops, gun auctions and on this and other on-line auction sites, I have to agree with Bert. With the possible exception of the L.C. Smith - it might sell for 2/3s the starting price - there seems to be a "cult" following of these pieces - but the field grade doesn't command the highest price. The most out of line seems to be the Rossi. If the seller's story is factual - I believe he is relying upon "sentimental" bids.

I agree. I dont bid "period" on any auctions of sellers who wont sell to calif, period, so I cant help. 0 -
I agree with Bert, prices are about double what I would expect. 0 -
I dunno about the other guns but the Rossi is about $200 overpriced--I see them all the time at gun shows for $250 to $350. 0 -
A little over prices for me. But then latly if i dont get a steal on something i didnt with the bid. All in all there about 2 times what i have seen them going for. 0
