counter sniper scopes...Yea or Nea?

So i've been shopping around for a new scope for my remington 700 sps in .308.....It looks to me that the brand counter sniper optics seams to be the best bang for the buck...my budget is $500.00...does anyone have any experiance with these scopes?

    Some of the scopes have all sorts of lines,dots, and squiggles in the field of view. Actual use of these requires constant practice to get used to all the distractions. Many shooters don't practice that much and the confusion costs shot opportunities or causes misses. The hype over "sniper/counter sniper" scopes is mostly advertising rather than filling an overwhelming need.

    Yep, stay away from anything advertised as "sniper" or counter sniper" your neither so just stay away from this marketing scheme.

    I'd love for someone to give me a coherent explanation of why a "sniper scope" (used to find ranges and target humans at a distance) needs to be different than a "counter-sniper scope" (used to find ranges and target humans at a distance).

    I can't speak to the quality of the optics of the particular brand you mentioned, but as the other posters indicated, I'd stay away from any rifle scope with whacko reticles unless I had a LOT of experience shooting at long range, and knew EXACTLY which features I knew I needed. (Note, that I don't consider a simple crosshair will mil-dots "whacko").

    Also its pretty hard to go wrong with the "name" brands like the ones you mentioned (Leopold, Burris), etc.

    Yeah well, my tactical counter-counter-counter-counter-counter sniper counterscope has yours beat for a mile. It practically shoots itself.

    Most of the COUNTER COUNTER COUNTER scopes are best left right there- on the COUNTER! [:p]

    You may want to consider Meopta if bang for the buck is your primary concern.

    IMO, they compare to Leupold or Burris models costing a couple hundred dollars more.

    That said, they are an Eastern European make, and Leupold and Burris still make their higher end scopes in the U.S.A.

    Every time I see one of those freeken crazy "TACTICAL" redcules, makes me remember the old war movies. When the kraut submarine captain is looking through the periscope, in the process of sinking some of our ships.
