HK P7 PSP

Curious whether or not u guys know if these ex-german police weapons are rebuilt after their service use. I purchased one from a local trust worthy shop that had explained that all the inards are replaces after the german cop turns it in. The barrel is so clean i can see my own reflection in it and it shoots all types of ammo without a flaw. Just need your two cents...

I would also like to see more posts regarding weapons made by hk as well as springfield, sig , beretta, and mainly military weapons. I personally believe that the good weapons to buy are those in use by our troops as they are tested daily in training and war.

    I have been able to pick up a brand new HK P7 PSP with box (box is a little rough) green foam pad with cleaner in tube, extra clip, manual,target and another piece I do not recognize.

    This is brand new and has never been fired and has HK Inc Arlington VA written on the barrel.
    I know the owner bought this in the early 80's and I was wondering if there was an approximate value of this gun.

    I saw a used one on Gunbroker.com for a $799 bid with other import writing on the slide. It is definately not the same time frame as this one.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Click on the Smart Search link near the top of the Gunbroker home page, & then search COMPLETED AUCTIONS for "HK P7 PSP". You should be able to find something close to yours.

    There are many variations in boxes, importers, & accessories. The name of the importer alone is probably not going to make a difference in value.

    Lots of ex-police pistols have been imported by HKI, which is located in Alabama, and the market is softer than it once was. I tend to think that an HK marked commercial pistol will bring more money than an ex-police import, at least judging from the diferences in prices between a surplus Walther P-1 and PP pistols vs. those commercial imports from Interarms.

    It is probably the the tool used to remove the striker assembly in at the rear of the slide, as shown on the left. Middle is the gas tube brush, on the right is the gas tube reamer.

    The vast majority of the PSP models were made prior to 1983. The only real distinction that makes some more valuable than others is the fact that a very few are actually marked on the slide with the the letters "PSP".

    The type of mag release is one other distinction, (protruding or flush), but really doesn't effect the value much.

    In unfired, ANIB condition, you can start at $800 as a value and hope for more due to the lack of military markings. Your main competition in value are some recent imports being imported by P W Arms that do have one of the military markings.

    Your slide should have a date on the right side.

    thanks for your help...I could not find a date on the slide and it does not have PSP stamped anywhere.

    It has an early serial # of 32659 and does not have the gas tube reamer on the right side of the picture.

    I will see what the market will bear!!
