Colt & DPMS pricing

I am going to a very small auction this weekend and their merchandise descriptions are meek. Can you give me an idea what these would be worth and are they worth the money (is a different model more reliable etc?)?

Pistol: Colt Govt Mod 45, good condition but well used.

Rifle: DPMS Panther Arms 0.223, excellent condition

    Colt sounds like $300.00 up to $3000.00 wide rage BECAUSE it may be a WW II that Bubba has changed all the parts and the gun now does not function $300 or it may an early early Pistol, Navy Model Marine Model Civilian Model or one of a small number that was sold to Russia = $3000.00 even if WELL WORN but ORIGINAL. Sorry but this is sort of like Vintage cars CONDITION is everything Well worn but all original and rare model will beat the price of a model that numbered in the 10's of thousands and has been modified with a bunch of PEP BOY PARTS.

    If the DPMS is in good condition at auction I'd say anything under $850-900 would be a good deal. Anymore than that you can buy one new.

    A well used .45 acp is "probably" going to be a bad shooter. I have own several over the years and have found them to be less than accurate without a little gunsmith work.

    Pretty much ANY Colt 1911 in functional condition is going to be worth at least $400, and that's even with aftermarket parts or one in bad shape. If the parts are all original and the gun isn't totally trashed externally, you can figure $500-600 even for a worn specimen.

    More is possible (maybe even a lot more), but its impossible to be more specific without a pretty good evaluation of the outside and inside of the gun. Needless to say, there are MANY versions of the 1911 pistol that Colt put out, and year of manufacture, specific model, and condition all play a part in its value.

    I'd estimate a DPMS .223 in excellent condition is going to be worth $650-1000 depending on which exact model and what (if anything) comes with it.

    The "sportical" (which is the entry level gun) can be had new for about $700. Some of the more elaborate .223s run up to $1000 or so.
