How accurate is the new Aguila 5MM Magnum Rimfire ammo?

I found it to be as good as, or better than, any of the 3 runs of the original Remington 5MM Mag stuff. That is from a bench with a rest. I was getting less than 1/2" groups at 50 yards and I am not the greatest shot (getting old you know). Did use scoped rifles a couple of each the 591 and 592. Nothing fancy for scopes rither, BSA, Simmons, Tasco. Hope this helps. 0 -

Not yet, some threaten to, but nothing promised... Maybe a pistol from Taurus? I hope that someone makes a new rifle.... 0 -
I went out to the Range with my old Remington 592 with Nikon 3-9 Prostaff and my new Centurian 5mm ammo. The guy next to me was shooting his Ruger M77/17 in the 17HMR and a 3-12X40 BSA Sweet17 scope. After watching me shoot at 50 yards he asked if I wanted to shoot for a 1.00 a shot total of 10 at 100 yards and tighest group would win the 10.00. He could cover his group with a quarter, while I inner locked all shots and covered it with a dime. I love this stuff. better groups than my old Rem ammo. 0 -
The new Aguila stuff is still more costly than the Schroeder center fire, if you don't mind the time spent on reloading. 0 -

It might be lesser expensive, but there is a supply of 5mm magnum now, and the price will come down. Even though Remington has not made the rifles in over 2 decades, there are still numerous ones available on the market. The Schroder is like the CCM's almost, with very hard to find brass. The ballistics of the 5mm also best the 22WMR or 17 HMR.

I am surprised that the rifle manufacturers have not reintroduced some offerings in the 5mm. It offers more energy and killing power than the 17 HMR, but its trajectory is inferior to the 17 HMR. For small varmints that do not need much energy to kill them, such as ground squirrels, I would probably prefer the 17 HMR, especially past 100 or 125 yards.
Thirty years ago, one of my shooting friends had a 5mm in a Thompson Center scoped handgun. It was very effective on varmints out to 75 or 100 yards, even in the handgun.0 -

Heck, I dont even own a rifle in this caliber but have bought some ammo! I love the looks of it and the ballistics. Still, after all these years, am kind of miffed at remington for abandoning their loyal base...the people who spent good money back in the 70's to buy their rifles, that they then said to heck with and stopped making ammo for!! Anyway, I am keeping my eyes peeled at shows for a beater 5mm rifle that i can use as a winter project to rebuild. 0 -
I would think that the 5mm would be a good candidate for a project. One should be able to rebarrel a 22 mag or 17 hmr action to the 5mm. The action would have to take the higher pressure of the 5mm.
Now that ammo is available, let's build some 5mms!0 -
