Whitch Old Military Gun To Buy
I have a chance to buy 3 old mlitary guns i am looking at buying just 2 which two will be the best deal? They are all about 85% good. The guns are 303 British Enfield, 8mm Mauser VZ 24, and the 7x7mm. Which 2 would you buy? Thanks David

Which 7x7? if you mean 7.7 Jap then buy the other two.
If the 7mm is one of the South American Mausers, which one is it?
Describe bore condition since most, if not all of these rifles shot corrosive ammo.0 -
Buy all three and every other old gun the seller has. But really...each of the guns you mention could have something special or
rare about it...no way to tell just from your info given. And condition is some what mute with many older military guns, A Jap sniper with mum
and scope is worth a lot even with rust spots and banged up stock. A pristine vz24 would just be "another" mauser next to it. bob0 -

For what it is worth, look at what MILSURP ammo is available. There is still a lot of 8mm Mauser and 7.62x54R out there fairly cheap- but the days of cheap .303 Brit are about gone. 0 -
Depends on the conditions of the guns and what you want to do with them.
If you just want to hang them on a wall, pick the ones with the nicest external condition.
If you actually want to SHOOT these, as mentioned, you should consider the availability and cost of ammunition. Of the three, I think the Czech Mauser is the only one that still has relatively cheap and widely available milsurp ammo. To me that's a no-brainer.
In terms of the other two, that's going to depend on their condition and your personal preference.
I'm not sure what you mean by "7x7". Is that a 7x57mm South American Mauser?
If so, both it and the Enfield have commercially manufactured ammo readily available, though surplus is scarce for both (and expensive). If you reload ammo, then this is less of an issue.
Personally, all else being equal, I'd take the Enfield, but that's a question of personal preference. I'd pick the 7mm *IF* it were in significantly better shape.
EDIT: You asked which is the "best deal". There is absolutely no way to answer that question without seeing the condition of the guns in question, knowing exactly which models they are (eg there are many Enfield variants and their values can vary tremendously) and knowing what the asking prices are.
A great rifle at a inflated price, may not be as good a "deal" as a mediocre rifle at a great price.0 -
My considered opinion...VZ-24...8mm has always been one of my favorites..Bought another 8mm rifle for $150.00 several months ago..Good Shooter...Just do a little Shop Snooping...some small Gun Shop will most likley have one laying about...... 0
