my grandmother asked me to find out about what a gun she has could be worth it is a j steven 32 long rifle pat1794 apr ser49066 it is in good shape i shot it many times years ago it is lever action single shot

    Need Help. I have a Pistol with a 18" barrel. Brake down, looks like a 22 cal. It has a attachable metal frame butt that slides and screw lock at the bottom grip. Look's like a rifle when together. What is the model of this, Serial 3506 all number match. Looked around and have not seen this.

    Stevens made a number of different models of what they called "Pocket Rifles". This was between the 1860's and the early 1900's.

    It would be best to either post quality photos, or obtain a copy of "Flaydermans Guide" which has a section on them, along with photos and a price guide.


    GOOGLE, "stevens pocket rifles". Bunch of stuff comes up, including photos, you might be able to identify it that way?

    It sounds like a Stevens Pocket Rifle.
    Flayderman's book shows ten different models made from 1869 til 1900. The earliest he shows with an 18" barrel is the New Model First Issue in 1872. He doesn't say how the serial numbers run, from scratch or by each individual model.
    Pictures will help somebody who knows about them tell you more.
