    Sorry, the information you have given does not compute.

    If you have questions about a specific gun, please provide photos, including markings on the side of the frame visible when the cylinder is open, & the bottom of the frame that may be covered by the grips.

    Thank you Neal, long time ago I met a guy on here who sounded like he was related to either Smith or Wesson. Think I'll need to call Springfield, I was able to find out the 21-1 that falls between serial #'s 185000-263000 (N) frame may be worth somthing... several have said that very few were model marked in this range.
    I will post a pick asap.

    The model 21s are rather hard to find and therefore very collectible to Smith collectors.

    The 21-1 was made in 1960. There were about 1200 made in the serial number range you posted. The serial number of the 21-1 should be in the S207000 - S219999 range.

    S&W M21 was a Model of 1950 44 Military. The 38/44 heavy duty is an entirely different model.

    Rather than try to play guessing games with us, why don't you pony up your $ for a factory letter. If you truly have the rare piece you think, that will tell us all it is authetic.

    Thanks Laredo, thats exact info I have obtained. I appreciate it.Kind of wanted to hear it twice. I know it's 21-1 38/44 heavy duty.
