Taurus Mdl 415
Just saw these on the auction side. Really like the idea. Any feedback on them ? Iknow, Iknow......it's a Taurus.

I have one - 2.5" bbl all titanium and ported barrel. It kicks, but it's not a big, heavy push like a full sized 41 or 44 - more like lighting a small firecracker and closing your hand. I shoot heavy calibers out of my Encore - 375, 405,45/70 and such - and am pretty recoil tolerant, have a 3" Smith 29. The 415 (if ported) isn't that bad. No porting and I'd bet it beats the heck out you like a 3" 29.
The rubber grips are great, but big for such a short barreled gun. I ordered a pair of Nill grips ($125.00 - ouch) because they're the only wood grips out there that fit the 415 frame, which is the same as the Tracker.
It makes a helluva noise, but it's reliable and in the 15 yard range shoots POA with 210 JHPs. Most of my friends who shoot it want one.
Looking at the 3 pictured, the least expensive one looks to be ported and may be titanium - that's the one I'd get, the others don't look ported and even though they're SS they'll kick alot more than a ported titanium. The least expensive one, oddly enough, looks to me to be the most desireable.0
