264 Question
Greetings,
I have run across a 264 barreled action, the receiver is an FN, and the barrel is a Firearms International Corp. Wash DC, the rifle is pristine with nice Williams sights, and scope mounts.I need to know what kind of stock this needs? And if possible, a rough estimate of the value.

'Firearms International Corp.' was an importer not a manufacturer.
Condition will determine most of the value of this firearm so it's important to take some properly lit, sharp photographs of the barreled action so we can assist with a value. It's also important with high activity cartridges such as this, that you have the throat and leade looked at carefully. Damage here is irreparable without setting the barrel back and cutting a new throat and leade.

Needs? Large ring Mauser M98 pattern probably. Pictures will help clear part of this up. As to any other information you should make the decisions about style and type of wood or synthetic. M98 pattern stocks are plentiful from several manufacturers as well as from individual stockmakers.

This is the so-called 'improved' Mauser large ring M98-type action. The improvements are the solid left side of the action, the modern looking gas shroud without the firing pin safety or 'flag' as some refer to it, and the side safety which acts as a trigger block. The trigger is identified but the one photograph only shows a small part of the name with the bolt handle blocking it. The sweep of the bolt handle was considered an improvement also in that it made using a scope much easier on the shooter and was used by most countries making Mausers after the late '50's.
Value? Maybe $300.00, maybe not if the barrel is in heavily used condition. It could be less or slightly more but sharpness is lacking in most of the pictures.

I appreciate the help, I really don't want the thing in such an oddball caliber, I stick with 30-06, but it was a good trade for a couple hours of re-finishing work on another rifle. So will the standard M98 stock work on this model? Does it need a special stock or can one be modified?

It will take most of the Standard Commercial M98-type Mauser stocks. This leaves out the stocks used to replace military stocks.
You will need to remove some of the stock where the safety needs to fit and maybe a little work in the trigger area but that's about it. The barrel channel should be adequate for sporter contour barrels. If it's tight simply sand it out a little until it fits and there is a tiny bit of clearance for the barrel.
The .264 Winchester is one of the very first long range factory cartridges. It's performance was second to none if you kept the barrel long to burn all the powder. Nowadays there is a terrific selection of better powders that really make this cartridge sing! It's best though that you don't use it rapid fire or in a field of prairie dogs.
