Series '70 .45 for a Model 12 trap 1950 ?
This friend of mine is bugging me to trade. He inherited his dad's guns and is a non hunter. He wants my Colt to keep in his motor home and will trade a 95% (1950 vintage) model 12 trap grade (yes, it's real). My Colt is about 90-95%, nickel, original, no box. Thoughts?

If your Colt has a serial number of X70N20801 - X70N21020 it is a rather rare series 70 . A blued series 70 Colt in 45ACP in 95% + condition should bring $750.00 so let this be your guide to the worth of your pistol . Now the main things to consider is do You want to shoot TRAP[?] .Do you want to have a gun that will increase in Value[?]IMHO the colt will increase in value more quickly because many new collectors remember the series 70 Colts while Winchesters are the top collector long gun in the world the model 12 is more interest to the Gray beards and there are fewer of us old F**T's every year. i had a 2 series 70's 38 super and 38 mid range i sold them both..wish i would of kept them,but i would of never traded either for a model 12..and i prefer to collect only winchesters the model 12 had its day back in late 70's early 80's.seems like no one wants them any more or should i say they do not bring the price they did back then..and both mine were blued...just my 2 cents 0 -
