Husqvarna Vapenfabrika

I purchased a Husqvarna Vapenfabrika made in 1870. It is a double barrell 16 gauge shotgun and 50/70 caliber rifle. Anyone have any idea as to the value of the gun and information about its history? I know it was made in Sweden, but the only website I found regarding this company begins in 1890.

    I purchased a very rare Husqvarna Vapenfabrika gun. It was made in 1870 and is a double barrell - 16 gauge on one side and 50/70 caliber rifle on the other. Does anyone know the value of the gun and/or any history about it. All the websites I have looked at do not go back to guns made in the 1870s.

    GOOGLE, "drilling" This is the name collectors know them by. They are much more common in Europe then the States, although one American company did make them for a very short time.

    It would be best to post quality photos for valuation advice.

    The date of 1870 seems to be way to early for a cartridge drilling made by Husqvarna. Most likely it's chambered for the Swedish 12 X 42mm cartridge rather then the American 50-70. This cartridge dates to that time frame, but it was used in Remington Rolling Blocks rather then drillings.
