WW 2 bring back? Can anyone identify

A friend's great uncle left this to him. The uncle left a message that he brought this back from France.

  looks like was called a Velo Dog personal protection in mans pocket or ladies purse neat but not much value.

  I can't count how many times I've seen these described as war bring backs. I can't imagine Geman soldiers using them. I wonder if looted from homes etc?

  I think what you got there is a version of a "Jupiter" made by Auguste
  Francotte of Liege. If you could tell me what caliber it is in I could be more sure..is it like a very long .22 and has seven shots ???? Or is it in 6.35 Browning and five shots????There were many small French arms companies making types of this gun. bob
