Model 63 Winchester

An elderly friend of mine has two rifles he would like to sell, I told him I would help. This is one of them, a Model 63 Winchester from 1938. I told him it would be worth around $1000 to $1300, does this sound about right?

    I have a 63 that was mfg in 1958 that has checkered stock and forearm. I have looked for others like mine and I have only found one and it was factory engraved. Mine is not engraved but is checkered. Is it worth more or less?

    Hello Ron,

    You left your question open to interpretation, but I will assume that you were trying to ask if your rifle is worth more (or less) than a standard Sporting Rifle (non-checkered stocks). If that is the case, then yes, your rifle is worth more (as long as the checkering was factory applied). If you were asking about your rifle in comparison to the engraved and checkered rifle you found, then No, your rifle is not worth nearly as much as it is.

    If you want to know what your rifle is worth, you will need to post several clear (well illuminated) pictures of it.
