Winchesters and Poly-Chokes
I read a piece the other day regarding Poly-Chokes. It stated that back in the 50's when everybody wanted a "Sweet Sixteen" Browning, it had to have a Poly. It also said that when the Poly-Choke was installed at the factory, Browning did not put a choke identification on the barrel. (No Full, Modified Imp-cyl etc)
I know that Winchester offered the Poly-Choke as an option. Did Winchester also not use a choke designation when a Poly was factory installed?

According to current literature, when a Model 12 or 42 left the Winchester factory with a Poly Choke ( including other choke systems) there was not a choke stamping on the barrel. 0
