I am tring to get a value on a NB Davis & Sons Double Barrell Shotgun. I think the gun is antique but have no idea the year, I cant find any numbers on the gun. Any information will be helpful.

    Depends on how you want to use the shotgun. Mossberg 500, Remington 870 express. Benelli nova.

    +1 0n DUCKHUNTER's rec. It really does matter what you use them for. Hunting and home defense call for entirely different guns.

    Sorry, I should have specifide. Target clays mostly. Simi auto would be best. Exhibition type shooting withought paying for a top quality gun. I am unemployed right now, so I don't have the cash for a real good gun.

    Personally, I'd recommend saving up a little more, and going with a used Remington 1100 with a 26 inch remchoke barrel. Easy to change choke tubes for even greater versatility. Just my .02 cents.

    If 300 dollars is your budget , you will be looking for used shotguns , 300 dollars won't by a quality auto shotgun , I use a winchester sx2 and have used for about 6 years , I use it for everything , including trap shooting , it gets it's fair share of crappy wheather too I use it for ducks and geese , pheasants and turkey .Stay away from low cost autos , they will make you pay ! had a stoeger and it was shooting low left by about a foot each way ,took 6 months for the dealer to get a new barrel , shot the new barrel for about a year , when it did the same thing !! You should be able to find Berretta's , Winchester's , and remingtons for about 400 bucks used . Good luck !

    +1 you are pretty much wasting your money with a $300 budget and looking for an autoloader.

    +2 on wasting your money on a bargain basement gun. If money is tight, sell something you don't need and get a quality gun.

    Stoeger makes a O/U that new retails for around 350...

    Otherwise, you are in utilitarian pump land (mossberg 500) or the used market

    Hate to say this to someone wanting to buy a firearm and shoot for recreation.

    But if you are unemployed,why spend your limited resources ($$) on this? Also you need to consider the cost of ammunition and the cost of each round of the clay targets.

    Your absolutely right about that. Although I would do it because I love to shoot. I am young, so I can get small jobs hear and there to pay for ammo, clays, gas and whatnot. I need something to get me out of the house now and then, and I can't seem to find ammo for anything els. Whats new right.
