Is it an original finish?

Looks ok to me although without having it in hand its hard to be sure from the pictures. I have one in about the same condition which I think is all original and it would photograph about like this one. The stock looks a little "brighter" than I would expect but the finish seems consistent in the photos. The Seller is offering a three day inspection so you might raise the issue with him in advance and make the deal subject to your handling the gun. Seems priced about right for the condition if it is original. 0 -

+1 on wood, butt doesnt look right (wood sanded?) and too shiney, Metal may be original. I put up an old 61 .22 mag for reference. Even the plastic butt plates were fit correctly with no overhang.

Seller says all original, seems too light in color and too unworn (is that a word?) to me. 0 -
On Winchester the gun was original blued than the Proof stamps were struck (I think) this gun has blueing in the proof stamps 0 -
Look closely. Buttplate overhang. Confront the seller, he may re-list at a lower price, as he may honestly be unawares. (Advise him that the wood has been worked on).

I'll agree the wood looks too nice and shiney. I would think even if it was a safe queen, after 50+ yrs the wood would be a little duller. 0 -
Clearly a Tru-Oil refinish. Too light for original. I can almost smell it looking at the picture. 0 -

100% refinish[V]. That rifle has been polished and reblued, and the stocks sanded and refinished.0
