Mounting and Aimpoint on a 1911 style pistol

I recently put a red dot scope on my Ruger Mk II and can shoot pretty good again. (Vision problems). It is a lot more fun to shoot when you can actually hit things consistantly. I have a Para that I would like to put a Mini Aimpoint on. What is the best way to have it attached? Can it be mounted on the slide or must it be a frame mount?

  I'd mount a scope base to the frame If I was gonna use a T-1 Or H-1.
  
  Burris and other companies make optics bases that replace the rearsight so that you can mount a fastfire, jpoint, trijicon, or ATN mini red dot.

  Burris Fastfire...great little sight, need to buy the right base for your dovetail slot. I have tried the mounts that replace the right grip...didn't care for them at all.

  IMHO slide mount is the only way to go . I have slide mounts on my match guns and one has over 300,000 rounds with the same Gilmore red dot . I tried a frame mount and grip mount Grip mount don't hold Zero and frame mount feels like a big tuning fork during recoil . look at Champions Choice or Champions Shooters Supply or Larry's Guns in Maine Go to the small arms firing school at Camp Perry in july it is the best marksmanship school for the money hands down and all three businesses set up a store front there to serve BULLS-EYE shooters.
