.45 1911 Griffon
I also have come across this pistol. I love the fel, and the looks, but have not had a chance to fire it. i have also looked it up on the internet, but haven't had much luck finding factual info. One thread said it was a Norinco, but I have not found anything to back that up.
basically, I would like to know where to find parts and if Colt or other makes parts are interchangeable.

If it's a clone the only way your going to find out is to try swapping with Colt parts. Some look identical but the parts won't fit. As it was imported from South Africa for only a limited time in the late 90's early 2000's time frame, not likely any original parts are still available. If Colt spec parts won't fit, your SOL unless you can get a skilled gunsmith to rework them. 0 -
Thank you Rufe. You from DFW area? I pretty much know weapons, just not much on fixing and parts. I wasn't aware gunsmith's could make parts fix. See, i have two max-1 .45 llama's, one with out the slide. I can't find crud for it either, and most everyone says to get rid of them. But, the one working is a godd shooter, just jams alot. If it is true parts can be reworked, then maybe i won't be sol, just out of money, as I am sure it won't be cheap.

The resale value of a Griffon is really low. On an impulse, I bought one for around $450 about ten years ago...then when I tried to sell it, I took a beating. I would avoid the Griffon and go with a Colt, Springfield, Kimber, S&W instead. 0
