Bill, I posted a couple months back about an old Iver Johnson and am
about to put it on the block here. Just wondering if it would be ok
with you if I quoted you in the listing.
This is the text I would use, of course giving you the due credit also:
"this is the relatively rare first model safety automatic revolver manufactured before the name change to iver johnson's arms & cycle works. this change occured by the summer of 1894. so your revolver was manufactured some time in the first half of 1894. the safety automatic revolver was in production between 1894 and 1941 and was iver johnsons most popular revolver. if the mechanical condition is as good as the picture shows the physical condition this revolver should bring well over $100. the finish is nickel which was standard for this revolver. the first model safety automatic revolver was only manufactured between 1894 and 1896 and was manufactured for black powder cartridge pressures (do not fire modern ammo in this revolver). the second model safety automatic revolver was manufactured betwee 1896 and 1908 (also a black powder only model) and the third model was manufactured between 1909 and 1941 and is the only model considered safe with modern ammo.

one quick question the h&r I have is it supposed to have the oversized walnut grips like the H&R Target Model or will it take the little black looking ones [?]
