Whats the Deal with this rifle? There are a lot of these on the Auction side but i dont ever see anyone bidding on them.

    i do not know if this topic has been covered before but i'll ask anyways.

    what is the status of the 6.8 spc round that remmington was testing for military aplication.

    have heard both good and bad things about it. is it stil being tested, has the idea been dropped? is it available camercialy.



    on an end note in one of the gun mags this topic was covered to some extent and they threw out the idea of a scaled down m1a1 designd to fire this new round. any thaughts on that.

    i personaly do not beleive that you need to carry an anti tank rifle for personal protection.

    it doesn't matter how big your gun is, it's what you do with it when it counts :)

    first, has the gun ever operated properly or is this a change. are you using reloads. it sounds like there is not enough energy to extract the round and pick up the next from the magazine. after that you have to look for a clean chamber, unobstructed gas tube, no pitting that would cause the case to stick, properly resized brass, check the extractor, check that you have a good magazine. You start with the most common probability and work your way down.

    Sounds like its not getting enough gas into the key, That is usually caused by a improperly installed gas tube.

    If your rifle is still covered by a warantee just send it back, Takeing the completely apart will void the warantee.

    Is the gun new? If so, it needs to be fully broken down and cleened and oiled, especially the bolt. If you don't know how to do this, take it to someonme who can show you. I use Synthetic 5W-50 Castrol (yes car oil). I run both my 5.56 and 6.8 wet. A very respected AR guys sugggeted this to me when I had the same type of problem. Also I had problems with the PRI mag that came with the rifle (probably just a randowm bad batch).

    So has it been properly oiled and cleaned? What brand is it?

    Untill more info is provided, it sounds like a gas tube/block problem. Either not installed correctly or needs cleaned.
