CA resident purchasing in OH
I am a California resident but I go to college in Cleveland, OH. How can I purchase a rifle in Ohio and receive it here in Ohio. I have an apartment but for scholarship reasons I need to maintain my CA residency. I have read through countless forums but everything seems to talk about handguns and all I want is a nice bolt-action 22 rifle for target shooting.

WRONG.
I'm an Ohio dealer, and I won't transfer without valid OH ID, or the alien resendency requirements. If I'm wrong, show me, but I like to CMA.

Sorry Bill, you are wrong. You can sell a rifle or shotgun to a resident of any state at your premises, provided such transfer complies with the laws of both states. (See ATF P5300.4, page 177, question B2).
In this case, you can even sell Soloawe a handgun, as he is a resident of your state for the time that he attends school there. See page 179, question B12. Your state authorities may have guidelines on what constitutes proof of residency.
