Will a 870 express barrel fit on model 58 remington shotgun.

    I have a model 58 in good condition except I need to replace the carrier assembly .The part that locks the bolt back is broken. Any suggestions where to get the part. I plan to take it to my local gun smith for the repair. I'm thinking I could save a little money if I had part in hand. Any help or thoughts would be appreciated.

    I have one; to me it's a classy gun. 3-shot, gas operated, a little on the heavy side for an upland gun. They were popular with duck hunters back in the day. I take mine out rabbit hunting once in a while. As Mike says, you're right on the end cap.

    Have a 30" full choke model plain barrel. I like it. Must be 40 years old I think years ago there may have been a barrel issue. class action maybe? can remember sending in the serial # but was told mine was not included. Have seen them here 250 -400 in alot better shape then mine.

    You may want to check on "Mogan1955" s auctions. I got a very nice
    parts and owners book from him for my 878, which is similar to your 58.
    As said above these types of old shotguns have special place in the hands of hunters. They ARE "class" of years gone by. bob
