Any Info on JC Higgins 12ga Pump?
Years back I got a JC Higgins 12ga pump from my grandfather. It hasn't seen much action in the last 30 years, but was curious if anyone had any info/experience with them. All comments greatly appreciated.

JC Higgins was a Trade Name used by Sears on many firearms they sold. These guns were made by many different manufacturers.
To help you identify your shotgun as to original manufacturer and possibly DOM, we would need at the very least all markings on the shotgun. Quality close up photos would be even better.0 -
JC Higgins did not actually make anything. That was a name used by Sears on products built for them by others. If you give us the model number we may be able to tell you who the maker was and if there is an underlying model in the makers name. The value of the department store guns is always below the value of the same gun with the manufacturers name on it. Often they are economy models with hardwood instead of walnut stocks, lacking ribs on shotungs and so on. Often there no difference, but collectors for these guns are scant, so they always sell as shooters and as always condition is a major factor in the value range. 0 -
A picture or two would help a lot. Some were made by Hi-Standard; others by Stevens, Savage and I believe winchester. My brother hunted with a Hi-Standard made gun for a few years.
