Ammo for a Beretta 7.65

Hi all. A friend of mine asked me if I knew what ammo could be used in his pistol. He inherited the pistol from his Dad.

It is a semi-auto. Markings are as follows:

Pietro Beretta-Gardone V.T. Cal. 765-PAT

1958

MADE IN ITALY

896919

Anyone?

The gun is in excellent shape. Looks to be in good working order.

  Also, in the 765 the 65 is slightly superscripted so I assumed this meant 7.65 mm, making it about 30 cal., I think.

  It's commonly known and sold in the states as .32 automatic. Most all stores and on-line ammo sources carry it. 7.65mm is the European name/designation for the same ammo.

  Yes the 7.65mm is also known as the 32acp, 32 automatic, 7.65x17mm, and the 7.65 Browning

  Took the pistol to the local gun shop earlier tonight.
  
  The 32 auto ammo appears to be correct although we did not attempt to fire.
