cant find any info on this rifle. does any one have a breakdown of parts? or know where i can find a parts diagram? tried google and numrich online, to no avail.

Fabrique Nationale didn't build R1A1's, they build FAL's or LAR's.
R1A1 is a marketing term made up by Century Arms for their FN FAL/L1A1 type rifles.

The R1A1 is century's designation for their mixmaster FAL/L1A1 rifles. Some are inch, some are metric, some are a combo of it.
Take down is simple - flip the lever on the left rear side of the receiver, the action will unhinge like an AR. Top cover comes off, bolt carrier and bolt comes out. Up front, push in and rotate gas plug, pull it out slooowly since there is a Big Spring behind it. Catch spring, gas piston.
When you lube, no lube in gas piston area. Put lube on bolt carrier where it rides and underneath where the bolt flops in and out of battery.
You'll also want to adjust the gas system, but the process for this differs based on inch vs. metric pattern.0 -

Folding charging handle, folding rear sight, right hand muzzle threads, mag release left of center, welded front magazine lug? Then it is Inch.
