I think the $259.00 is a bit over inflated, they're more like a $195.00 scope usually. I picked up an older Savage 112 single shot heavy barrel 25.06 for about $250.00 and put the Truglo on it because I had it laying around, wanted to keep the deal inexpnsive. It's worked fine. I wouldn't buy one with the expectation of doing 600 yd shooting, but for 100 to 250 yds I'd say it's fine.
The store may just be closing them out, maybe Truglo is intro'ing a new model. Seems like an OK deal on a lower priced scope.0 -
Ok I bought the Truglo 6-24x44 illumimated mil dot and put this scope to a real test as I mounted it on my Remington 700 BDL 7MM Rem Mag to see how it stands up. Upon opening the box it looked nice (mine included sun shades). So I took it outside to examine the optics. Where so far i encountered my only complaint as is it gets fuzzy at 22-24 magnification unless the parallax is turned down. It works great up to 20 but as soon as it went over it sarted to get fuzzy. Other than that the optics were clear not as clear as a entry level Nikon but better than Simmons and Barska and Bushnells. During the sighting in process the turrets worked perfectly moving the bullet 1/8" at a time cutting each bullet hole as I neared the center. And after sighting it in it held 5 shots easily all within a 1" group at 100 yards. I shot a total of 22 rounds of Winchester Ballistic Silvertip 150 Grain and it has held up to the recoil thus far. Tomorrow or Wednesday I am going to do some more shooting but at longer ranges 200-400 yards and shoot approximately another 20 rounds and report my findings. So far I have to say $85 ( which included shipping) well spent. 0
