od/foliage green

I am looking for some new parts for my AR is there a lot of diff between od/foliage green furiture

  OD..olive drab is a browner color. Foliage green may be akin to the USMC "forest green" that their equipment was painted (at least back when I was in).
  
  Think of OD as a leaf in the early fall, and Foliage green as a dark leaf during the height of summer..akin to the color of a mint leaf.
  
  This post is addressing colors only, and has no bearing on any splotch/splinter pattern. Best, Joe

  Color is hard to nail down any time because of the problems with reproduction either in print or on your monitor. If you need a quick comparison for this problem look in any TV department in any department store or Big Box store. Stand back and you'll be amazed.
  
  Color is also subjective since we all perceive color in different ways. It's also depends on the type of light and intensity of the light as to how our eyes 'see' it. Lots of variables.
  
  Your best bet is to e-mail the manufacturers and see if they can send you a link to some pictures or send the photographs by themselves for comparison.

  Another issue is that there is no universal way to standardize colors.
  
  As a result, the same name colors between different manufacturers may not be identical.
  
  For example, not everybody's "Olive drab" is going to look exactly the same, and if you put two pieces from different manufacturers next to one another, you may see a slight difference in color tone. In some cases it can be a pretty dramatic difference.
  
  I think a good rule here is that if precise color matching is important to you, you need to compare the actual items in person.
