rust removal

I just picked up a couple of older progressive reloaders. One is a Star in 44mag and the other is a Size O Matic 800B in 12ga. They both have some rust on them that I would like to remove. Is there anything better than steel wool and gun oil. How about the Rust/ Blue remover I have seen in the gun cleaning products. Any help would be great.

    Got a Ruger No.1 and its got just the slightest hint of rust 'bout a quarter inch long and as wide as the thickness of a credit card and its right on the edge where the reciever meets the forend. Whats the best way to remove this or dissolve it w/o damaging the bluing?

    Kroil and bronze wool, some say OOOO steel, but I prefer the bronze. Some say nothing coarser than burlap, some say and old penny (less zinc, right?). Take your pick. Then, use a hard wax like Trewax to coat it and retard the retun of rust.

    Sounds like good advice. I'll pass it on to my pard with the rusty Marlin .35. Any other secret remidies out there?

    I'm going to offer another solution for removing rust from firearms; RB17 made in Houston, Texas. I've been using it for many years to quickly remove light rust with 0000 steel wool. It is biodegradable and does not harm blue. Works fast and is also real good for removing powder burns from revolver cylinders as well as for cleaning bores.
