22/410 with auto selector

For years I have loved hunting with the various Savage/Stevens .22lr/.410 shotgun combo models. They have all had the same limitation or weakness. After firing the first shot, you had to draw the hammer, switch the barrel selector (on the hammer, the tang, or on the side of the reciever). All this makes it hard to shoot first with the .22 and if missed, switch to shotgun and get the rabbit before it gets out of range.

I would LOVE to find a O/U combo gun that handles like my Browning Citori where when you fire the barrel you had selected, the gun automatically selects the other barrel. If I recall correctly, you didn't have to cock the other one either so you could shoot one then the other with no other intervention than on the trigger itself.

My question is does anyone make a .22lr/410 combo gun that works this way? If not, does anyone know if there'd be any O/U's (maybe in a .410/.410) that could be converted? I have wanted one of these for quite some time and would pay a realistic amount to make this dream a reality.

    I once had a Marlin model 90 O/U that was 410 over 22 Hornet I sadly sold it thinking I get replace it in better $$ times but never seen another one I hunt with a valmet 412 they come with one rifle and one shot barrel but smallest rifle barrel is 223 and the shot barrel is 12Ga. You might want to try CZ they make a great o/U 410 and might make a combo gun just not import into the USA. YET.

    The Stevens 24 you speak of also came in an O/U .410/.410 made in the 40's and into the 50's I occassionally run across one and they usually sell for 2X the price of a 24 . Most that I've seen have the plastic stock which is a little more prone to breakage. In the 1980's Savage made a run of .410/.410 O/U which sell now for around $400 - $600 but were not as sleek as the 24 which had two stamped steel hammers that were close enough together to cock with one (strong) ! finger. They are out there but people don't let loose of them without a good stack of $$$ PS. the Bluebook undervalues these and the 24 Stevens so don't expect to buy a decent one for a low price.

    I didn't know about either one of these guns, they were great reading. However, it didn't appear that they work like an auto selector where you cock it, then pull the same trigger twice and it first shoots one barrel then the other without any further user interaction except the trigger pull (like my Citori did).

    Any other ideas?
