.22 rifle clip problem.

Marlin mod.80 rifle,was out back shooting a bit this morn. when outta blue clip will not feed back in rifle.Tryed clip from marlin 25 in it[supposed to be same clip]same problem. Gun shoots fine if loaded by hand and ejects good so im assuming not a clip problem .Any ideas?Thanks,Paul.

  if i'm not mistaken, there is a flat spring that holds the clip in. if so, you might try taking it out of the stock and gently pushing it forward to give more tension. hope this helps, 260

  I think the problem you have is a broken clip retaining spring.
  the mod 25 's have a thin flat spring that is always breaking, and I will check tonite if the 80 uses the same lousy set up. I had to order
  some of them from a well known gun parts house and paid $14 for a piece of spring steel that belongs in a smith/corona typewriter not a gun. bob
