rem 700

I just bought a Rem 700BDL in 6mm. Someone told me that Rem doesn't make this anymore, which should increase the value.
It is in like new condition with just one very small mark on the stock. What is it really worth?

    Ok I a few ?'s about the Remington 700 VS,P[PSS)and some parts for it. I guess the first is there any other diferences between the VS and P[PSS) other than the stocks? I've been looking to possibly use a 10 round magazine on it, and heard that H-S Precision offers a conversion for it but it's for the 700BDL. Anyone know if the H-S Precision conversion would work on a 700 VS or P(PSS)? Or will the H-S Precision Magazines work by themselves on the 700VS DM or the 700P{PSS} DM? Are there anyother companies that offer similar products?

    I'm not sure what you're getting at but any M700 or Model Seven barrel will fit an M700 action. The problem is that they will not come to top dead center or be properly headspaced. In essence, you can't just get an M700 or Model Seven barrel and screw it into an M700 action and go shooting. A gunsmith can help with this.

    First off, WELCOME to the forum!

    Your question is rather broad & gives me the feeling of coming in on a conversation in the middle.

    For thread & shank size, Rem M700, M600, M660, M721, M722, M725, & M7 will swap with indexing & headspacing.

    Do you have a M700 that you are considering replacing the barrel?

    Or maybe a M700 barrel that needs an action?

    Things to consider:
    1) about 3 out of 4 barrels thought to be "shot out" can be returned to servicable condition with a good agressive cleaning.
    2) going with a used barrel saves very little, you may be buying someone elses problem child.
    3) price of used barrel + price of fitting = price of another used gun (like getting two for the price of one)

    We all develop tunnel vision from time to time. When you are close to a problem it is easy to get a mind set & charge ahead in that one direction only. Alternatives to 'used' are repair, rechamber, rebore, reline, & after market custom.

    If we knew what you have & what you want it to do, me may be able to better advise on the best line of attack.

    thanks for the reply.i have two rem 700 in 270 so i made one a switch barrel gun so far (270-243-300 sav)all new barrels from gunbrokers.do the work myself.have the headspace gages.so for so good.will not buy barrels but new takeoffs.but did not know if other rem barrels would fit.also built a 35 Whelen on a Turk Large Ring Small Shank Action and a Boyds laminated Stock and a Tiffany Trigger, Boy it looks good and Shoots Great. And being 66 years young, weather is too hot to do much outside so it gives me something to do in my little (ac) shop. Again I thank you for the information. The internet is a wealth of information and when I don't know, I ask and I check and it's people like yourself that will help people like me out to learn. I take all responsibilities for what I do on myself. Again Thank you, Curtis
