Whitney Wills Armoury

I have a nice small revolver silver with dark wood grips, not sure maybe .22 or .32 type caliber. but it appears around civilv war or after. has Whitney Wills Armourty CT. USA on barrel and number on butt of grip . Wondering on history of Whitney wills armoury and this gun, plus value.

    I believe you have a Whitney "spur-trigger" revolver similar to the one in the photo below.

    They were manufactured during the 1870's. The actual markings on the revolver should be, "Whitneyville Armoury CT. USA".

    Whitney was a very famous manufacturer of firearms during the 19th Century.

    There would be collector demand/value for it, depending on factory originality and cosmetic condition. They were made in a number of different calibers/models. My reference prices them in the range between $125 & $500, depending on the above factors.

    I went to the main page and did a search on "Whitney". The link below has a picture of a small caliber (.22 short) revolver and on the top of the barrel it reads "Whitneyville Armory CT. USA". Could this be what you have?
