It is 2-1/4 inches long, little larger than 40 cal. with bottleneck

Actually only 2 hits. Note how the hit pairs are 180deg apart?
I have one in my collection with a single (2 dents) hit.

i have a 41 swiss rifle and it has a two prong fireing pin, i guess to make sure the shell went off. the rifle has a extra fireing pin under the butt plate,eastbank.

Definitely a 41 Swiss rimfire, I have a couple of boxes of them.
