Sako serial numbers

I have just picked up 2 Sako Finnbear rifles from an estate sale,
One is a 30-06 L61R serial number of 1897 on the barrel and on the bolt handle and it has *B Bofors Steel B* on oppisite side of barrel. It is in very good condition (would attach photo but not sure how). The other is a 7mm Rem Mag L61R Deluxe also in very good condition. Can someone tell me how or where to find out dates on these or how to look up by serial number and what the value of these might be. First time Sako owner. Thanks

    go to "older models" - on lower left side you can find by serial number.

    L61Rs have serial numbers starting at 1 on January 31, 1962 and ending at 90954 on September 12, 1973. These are standard L61R rifles. There are other dates for magnum calibers: 1973 starting at number 509 and ending number 537. I can send the pdf file to you or you can find it on Sako's website under "downloads."

    I have always been a Browning fan for larger caliber rifles with
    almost all Ruger for the smaller end. First time to actually hold a Sako rifle and research--WOW is all I can say.
