I have a Ruger Super Blackhawk that I purchased in 1972. The only modifications made to the gun are I had the brass frame put on it and a 10oz. trigger job. This flattop did not go back to the factory to have the safety bar installed.
My question is I can no longer see the sights on the gun and I am thinking about putting a scope on it. Will this have any impact on the value of this gun? If so how much either +/- ? I am only putting a 2+ scope on it.0 -
Use a B-SQUare mount and you will not need to drill and tap your gun. When and if you want to sell your Ruger just remove the scope and mount. 0 -

Is the firearm in question a Blackhawk Flat top in 44 mag, or is it a Super Blackhawk? There is a major difference. The Flattop 44 will have a fluted cylinder, the super Blackhawk will not have a fluted cylinder.
The reason for this question, is that the B-Square mount is for the Super Blackhawk, that has a raised sight boss in the rear. The Flattop does not have the raised boss, and is flat, with the slot for the sight machined into the topside of the topstrap. The B-Square mount might not fit the Flattop...unless B-Square makes one for both.
