mossberg 44US question

on the mossberg 44US trainer..the 1-21-43 contract was supplied with a lyman 57MS receiver sight while mossberg was still developing their S-100 receiver sight that was used thru the remainder of their service..also used in the early contract was a redfield receiver sight along with the lyman 57MS..does anyone know which redfield sight was used on the early mossberg 44US rifles?

    You got me- Mine is the 912th Mdl 44US made, and it wears the Lyman 57MS. Drop a note to Vic or Cheryl Havlin at havlinsales.com They are very nice folks, my go to people for anything Mossberg. They run the Mossberg Collectors Assoc, and Vic used to work for Mossberg.

    right..I talked with cheryl via email..she said that the redfield was used in the early batch but couldn't recall off the top which model it was

    According to Stroebel, the only Redfield Rear Sights used on the Mossberg rifles was the Redfield 75M and 80Y, and they were for the Models 140, 142, 144,and 146 that had the master actions. Does the 44US have the master action?
