value of single didget serial S&W ???

I have 4 S&W hand guns with the same single number.All 99+%,with box.
I'm trying to figure out what they would be worth to a collector.If any thing. 10-5 D3,30-1 H3,34-1 M3,36-- J3.
# on the grips match.(3)

THE SERIAL # OF THE S&W is D3,H3,M3,J3.
MODEL # IS 10-5, 30-1, 34-1, 36--.

These are part of the infamous Dick Marble guns,they all did letter.

Standard Catalog of S+W page 173,(Weird serial number 3 revolvers.)

    Those are not serial numbers, they are model numbers. 10-5, 30-1 and 34-1 etc are model numbers and the other numbers, D3, H3 & M3 are assembly numbers.

    There would be thousands of guns with a 10-5 model number and likewise with 30-1 etc. They didnt make multiple guns with the same serial numbers unless be special order.

    The model 10-5 would be a .38 spl, the model 30-1 a .32 caliber and the model 34-1 a .22 caliber.

    The correct serial numbers should be located on the bottom of grip. Not in the yoke area, as the numbers you have given us are. Hopefully your revolvers are seaialized on the butt? In the past, makers of aftermarket grips have made grips that covered up the serial number. You have to remove the grips to see the actual serial number.

    Recently we have had a poster with a revolver that had the serial numbers illegally removed from the butt, this has caused him a lot of grief.

    My freind had the 29-2 ser#N3,sold it to Chuck Odoum,(29-1)on
    Smith-wesson forum.

    I'd say the best way to find out how much premium they bring is to ask your friend how much Chuck paid for the gun he sold him.

    They are not really single digit serial numbers (the letter is part of the serial number). They are really "special" serial numbers. Unlike the rare modern Smith's, they are not listed in the Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson; I would think they would bring a slight premium over a comparable gun if listed at auction. But, that's the only way to find out for sure what the "real" value is.
