WTK-will other barrels fit Mossberg 500?

I'm looking for a barrel for a mossberg 500. Someone offered me one that is for a Hawk 12 GA. Anyone know if it will fit? I've heard of Maverick 88, which i know is the same, but never heard of Hawk. Anyone know for sure?

    I don't know about the Hawk specifically, but GENERALLY........
    Take a look at the receiver end of the barrel, where it slides into the receiver, if it looks very similar to the Mossberg (kinda short, not really "strange" in shape) it will almost definitely fit. The reason I say this is because GENERALLY SPEAKING either the interchangeability is obvious or not. In other words, USUALLY, if it looks like it fits, it DOES! I do know that Mossberg 500 and Westernfield are very interchangeable, as my son has a Mossberg barrel on his Westernfield 12 ga.

    Mossberg and Maverick will interchange, but I'm not aware of any others aside from custom makers...

    There also used to be Hastings. Mostly for slug barrels.

    Western Auto Revelation is the same as a Mossberg 500. For the price of a new barrel you might pickup an entire Revelation shotgun.
