Remington 700 CDL "Quailty issues?"
I have purchased a new in the box 700 CDL LH 7mm mag. When installing the bolt assy and working the action at home. I noticed the bolt stop was odd and would allow the bolt to come completely out.
I removed the stock and found both trigger assy pins backed out far enough that when I rolled the action to look from above the bolt stop and spring came completely out of place.
I returned them, and for now it functions. But I have been smoldering over this.
Is this an issue of "the pins back out sometimes" or Remington puts out poor quailty sometimes? I have never heard of problems with the 700. I have contacted Remington online and no reply yet. (3 weeks)

I bought the rifle at Joe's (was G.I.Joe's) who is in chapter 11. So 260 had the chain store half right. I saved $100 from ordering it elsewhere. Again I shoot lefty with long guns and the selection is not as good as you would think. It was in the box with no marks, even on the pin's. I think it came from Remington that way.
I am a Retired Navy Gunners Mate and I have never been more happy with my work than when working on weaponry. To think that some hose clamp is taking up space and not loving the work? What else should I think? Where was this guy on "Headspace Day"?
What "Other" issue's have there been? If there were firearms returned or replaced, why?

the quality of remington has somewhat dropped off in the past few years. however, remington 700's are very good rifles. i wouldn't worry about it too much. it was probably put together at 4:45 friday afternoon just before quitting time. just a joke.
but on another note, did you happen to purchase it from wally world?
i have often thought that they sold factory seconds. reason is, some have been brought to my shop for repair days after being purchased from there.0 -
Seems to be the going rate for remingtons products in the present. 0 -
What 260 said has been my experience also. I have wondered about a possibility of "seconds" Still remingtion makes a good rifle. 0
