FNP 45 ?

looking for a new 45acp,seen a few of these on gb under $600 what is the general consensus of thier quality?

    I bought one in April and it has quickly become my favorite non-1911 45. Fits my hand nicely, is very accurate and extremely well made. I have zero issues with it and would buy another one in a heartbeat. I will buy a second one as soon as I can find a black and green one.

    Bought one 6 months ago and it has become my go-to pistol.

    The grip is fairly large, so you would want put one in your hand before buying it to make sure it fits you. If it does, you cannot go wrong, IMO, with one of these for under $ 600.00.

    I have two. The original with decocker only and the newer version with decocker/safety. I like them.

    I bought one last September, and I am extremely pleased with it. Like any firearm, it has its good points and bad points about it. Let me get the bad things about it out of the way first.

    Finding extra magazines other than here on Gunbroker.com is very difficult, so if you need more than three mags, you may wish to reconsider. Finding a holster that fits is even harder, although I just picked up a Bianchi black nylon paddle holster last month at a gun show that works perfectly. I don't know what gun it was designed for, but my FNP 45 fit in it, so I bought it.

    Now, the good things. It is very accurate, much better than any Colt 1911 that I've ever shot. It is reliable. It has not failed to feed anything that I have loaded in the magazine, nor has it ever misfired. I can field strip the pistol with my eyes closed in under 15 seconds, without tools. Sure, it's heavy, but that keeps the recoil down for a fast and accurate second shot. If you were to go to a gun range and shoot one, you would say "That's it, I want this." If you buy one, you will be very glad that you did. I know I am.

    We've had a couple in the shop. I had the opportunity to disassemble two of them for customers. I was surprised at the finishing touches taken by FN on the INTERIOR parts, including the inner cuts in the slide - not even SIG is as smoothly finished - FWIW. They fit my medium large hands very well - all the oontrols are in the right place - easy to reach and operate - and as stated before, field stripping is a BREEZE as is reassembly. IMHO, a VERY VERY nicely done handgun - and I get to see just about all the new as well as older models come through the shop.
